TSITP: An Era of Wednesdays, Voice Notes, and Girlhood
The Summer I Turned Pretty was a whole new experience . Wednesday rituals, endless voice notes, late-night predictions, the new season brought it all. When Season 3 aired, Gaurangi and I built our own tradition. Every Wednesday, we would put aside our work for an hour and watch the newest release together. We’d laugh, make wild predictions, and end the day with theories for the next week. At the same time, Lavanya and I would be on calls, fangirling over every perfectly narrated scene Jenny Han had given us. When none of us thought she could top Episode 5, she brought Episode 6, then 7, and then 8 each one better than the last. And then there was the music. Phenomenal. Every lyric felt so carefully chosen, like a mastermind had been working behind the scenes to pair the story with the perfect soundtrack.
